On Sunday, the first World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) festival of the 2025/2026 season ended at the Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma.
The WSOP Circuit Choctaw Durant awarded the usual 18 rings across 17 events. These were also supplemented by side tournaments, satellites, and cash games.
The festival ran from the kick off event, a $400 Monster Stack Freezeout, on July 16 to July 28, when both the $300 Finale event and the final table of the $1,700 WSOPC Main Event reached a crescendo, awarding the last two rings of the festival.
Main Event Action
Alex Cruz won the $1,700 Main Event, earning his first WSOPC ring.
Cruz was one of 968 players who bought in, generating a prize pool of $1,301,998. This is a decrease on January's turnout for the same event in which got 1,070 entries, reflecting the usual refractory period the poker world undergoes while still bobbing in the WSOP's wake.
Cruz came into the final table short on chips and found himself putting his tournament life at risk when a series of double ups put him back in the game. Before long, Cruz found himself heads up with another Alex, Alex Rindone, for the top spot.
The $1.3 million prize pool still put $241,412 up top. A well-timed flush put Cruz in the lead, and shortly afterward, a pair of fours sealed the deal for him.
Rindone won $160,932 for second place.

Other Highlights At The Choctaw
Although there were 18 rings to dole out, there were only 17 ring events. This was due to rings #9 and #10 being awarded to the dual winners (Kevin Perrydore and Stephen Sweny) of the $400 Tag-Team Event.
Along the way, the WSOP Circuit Choctaw Durant also put on the Gargantuan. This $300 buyin event had nine starting flights, each of which came with a "multi-bag bonus."
This bonus is a cash payout of $500 for the second and third time a player bags in the event. Subsequent bags earn $1,000 each. This means a player who enters every flight, could win up to an $7,500 in bag bonuses.
However, when Day 2 rolls around, the players are only allowed to use their biggest Day 1 stack.
The event's long lead time, low buy in, and unusual format attracted the biggest field of the festival at 3,062 entries.

What's Next On The U.S. WSOP Circuit?
The WSOP Circuit Choctaw is done, the winners have celebrated, and the next WSOP Circuit festival is coming up soon.
August has four festivals on the US circuit. First up is the WSOP Circuit Harrah's Cherokee in North Carolina. The festival begins on August 7 and runs until August 18.
Then there are two festivals starting on August 14 — the WSOP Circuit Harrah's Atlantic City in New Jersey and the WSOP Circuit Graton in the Bay Area, California. These two events both run until August 25.
Then the final stop in August will be at Caesars New Orleans on August 21. The WSOP Circuit Caesars New Orleans will carry us into September, finishing up on September 1.
The current schedule is filled out until the end of November, with four more events each month until then.
