Corne Scheel returns to Olympic Casino Tallinn today in pole position to claim the first ring of the WSOPC Tallinn festival, kicking off a packed Monday of poker action in the Estonian capital.
The Dutchman leads the way in Ring Event #1: €350 Mini Main Event after bagging a commanding chip lead with nine players remaining. The tournament drew a bumper 954 entries and will play down to a winner today, with €45,700, a WSOP Circuit gold ring, and a $5,000 Ticket to Paradise package to WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas up for grabs.
Scheel, who has already made his second final table of the festival, may be the favourite, but he’ll have to navigate a tough final table to claim the first of twelve rings that are set to be awarded over the coming week.

Away from the Mini Main, Ring Event #2: €555 PLO4/5 will also play to a finish today. Twenty-six players remain in contention for a slice of the huge €127,300 prize pool as the four and five-card action continues in the heart of Tallinn.

Laajus Takes Sunday Highlight as Finns Dominate Final Table
It was a super Sunday for Finnish poker in Tallinn as Aku Laajus claimed victory in the feature event, the €200 NLH/PLO4/PLO5 Mix, at a seven-handed final table that featured five Finnish players.
Laajus topped a 138-entry field to take the lion’s share of the €22,287 prize pool, banking €5,520 for the win. He defeated Estonia’s Erio Ermann heads-up to lock up the title and add another strong result to his Tallinn resume. A regular at this festival, Laajus went one better than last year’s runner-up finish in the €250 Pot-Limit Sviten, this time adding his name to the 2025 honor roll.
With momentum on his side, Laajus may well have his sights set on the inaugural €555 Sviten Special ring event on August 1–2, as one of poker’s most entertaining mixed games prepares to crown its first-ever WSOP Circuit champion.
