A standard 52-card deck is used to play the card game rummy, which is usually played by two to six players. The goal is to use the cards you have in hand to form runs—three or more consecusatta.king comtive cards of the same suit—and sets—three or four cards of the same rank. Each player is dealt a hand of cards at the start of the game, and the remaining cards are used to create the draw pile. The top card of the draw pile is turned face up to start the discard pile. One card is discarded from each player's hand after they each draw a card from the draw or discard pile.
