The goal is to combine all of your cards before your opponents do, by creating legitimate sets and sequences. One card is dealt face-up to begin the discard pile, & the remaining cacrazy slotsrds form a draw pile after each player is dealt a predetermined number of cards. The requirement that players must form three sets of three cards or four cards in a sequence in order to declare victory is what gives the game its name, 334 Rummy. Regional preferences may cause slight variations in 334 Rummy's rules, but the fundamental principles always apply.
