A standard deck of cards is used in the game, which usually requires two or more players. Drawing and discarding cards to create legitimate sets & sequencrefused slotses is the goal. A set number of cards—typically 13—are dealt to each player, with the remaining cards making up the draw pile. In order to form melds—combinations of three or more cards that are either of the same rank or in a sequence—players alternately draw cards from the draw pile and the discard pile.
